With annual mean precipitation 395 mm, Jia County is the national date eugenics area and has the date cultivation history up to 1,000 years. Therefore, its date features dark red color, big fruit with thin crust, thick flesh with small nucleus, and mellow taste.
In 2003, Jia County was granted for the national date standardization demonstration area, covering the 1.274 households of 10 towns and 13 villages.
